Facility

Julie Rosen, Carolyn Carroll, Allison Harding, Flo Brown at CDS San Diego Awards PartyDove Hollow Dressage Center is a full service equestrian facility dedicated to providing its customers with unparallel care and service. Originally a mixed-training facility, Flo Brown purchased the 4.5 acre stable in the fall of 2006. In 2007, Flo embarked upon a complete remodel transforming the facility into the premier dressage training center it is today.

Indoor Arena

Click to Enlarge. The lighted indoor arena with Lightfoot footingThe 200’ x 75’ indoor arena is definitely Dove Hollow’s highlight. One of the few covered arenas in Southern California, it ensures clients never lose a day of training due to bad weather. The lighted arena is open to views of Olivenhain’s gentle rolling hills and lush landscape throughout the facility. At the end of the arena is the elevated viewing deck perfectly situated for watching lessons or for auditors to watch clinics.

Recently, the footing the in indoor arena was completely redone with Lightfoot. This new footing combined with daily watering and grooming creates the perfect shock-absorption to protect legs and extend the working life of the dressage athlete.

In addition to the covered arena, Dove Hollow offers two regulation sized dressage arenas both with mirrors and excellent sand footing.  Covered teaching/viewing areas have been built in each arena for the humans’ comfort. So whatever time a client decides to ride, there is always an arena to work in.

Boarding

Outside, two MD barns and a fully covered open barn offer more choices. Throughout the facility, paver walkways and courtyards create an elegant and dust-free environment. Stall sizes include:

12 x 12
12 x 12 with patio
12 x 12 with long run
12 x 16
16 x 20 covered open barn

All stalls have rubber mats, window, open stall gates, and automatic waterers. In addition, each stall is deeply bedded with Perma Rest Rice Hulls to create a non-allergenic environment.

Boarding includes feeding five flakes daily of Alfalfa, Bermuda or a 3-way combo. Timothy and Orchard hay are also offered but charged per flake. Individualized graining/supplementing programs are also offered to meet client needs. Stalls are cleaned twice daily, seven days a week. The Barn Manager, Barbara Church, is on site daily. In addition, staff live onsite 24/7 and perform nightly checks of all horses.

Turn Outs, Lunging, Equisizer

Five turnouts are situated around the property. In September 2008, Dove Hollow installed a new 4 horse Equisizer.
